Random Celebrity Generator

Get a random famous person from more than 220 well-known names: actors, musicians, athletes, scientists, writers, artists, leaders, comedians and TV personalities, from history and today.

How to use it

1. Press Pick a celebrity.
2. Filter by what they are known for, and by era.
3. Tick “Exclude already shown” so names don’t repeat during a game.

Party games

• Heads Up / “Who am I?”: hold your phone to your forehead while others give clues.
• Charades: act out the person without speaking.
• Celebrity (the hat game): generate a batch of names to fill the hat.
• Impressions: do your best impression of the person you get.

About the list

We include widely known public figures only, and show their name and what they are known for. Follow “Who is this?” to learn more on Wikipedia.

Keep, copy and share your names

Every result has a lock button. Locked results stay put when you generate again, so you can keep the names you like and reroll the rest. The history panel keeps your earlier results, and the back arrow takes you to the previous set if you generated one time too many. Press Wheel to put the current results on a spinning wheel and pick one with a bit of drama.

Use Copy to copy the results as a plain list, CSV or JSON, or download them as a file. Share copies a link that shows exactly the same results to whoever opens it, which is handy for games, classes and group chats.

Filters

Use “Known for” to stick to actors, musicians, athletes, writers or scientists, and “Era” to choose classic and historical figures or people famous today. The “First name starts with” box helps with alphabet games. For a mixed group, leave the filters empty and you will get a wide mix of famous people from different fields.

Tips for party games

Before a game, agree whether players must know the person by face or just by name. Use Era to keep it fair: classic figures suit older groups and history buffs, while people famous today suit younger players. If a name comes up that nobody knows, just generate again or press the back arrow.
